Things you wanna know about an exam before appearing it.

Let's say you are preparing for a very difficult entrance exam. OK, let me out that in another way. Let's say you are preparing for an entrance exam in which the candidates appearing are huge in number and the probability of your selection in the entrance exam is very low (if, every student applying is considered fair and honest test takers). Let me cut directly to the chase,

  • You would wanna take a good night sleep everyday of your preparation (Seriously! this thing helps a lot. Many scientific studies have proven it on subjects who had these scenarios.)
  • Then Your study materials do matter. Be sure to pick out one of the best reference books and other textbooks which does not takes all your time into reading it but rather gives you more insight of the concepts and some highlighted and good example problems.
  • Number of references: Sometimes, you may feel that you've gone through all the reference books available in the market and that you have been very thorough. But, I would like to tell you that just one decent reference book with all the suitable needs based on the requirements of the syllabus for the particular entrance exam is sufficient. Make sure that you didn't spend all your time just searching for reference books and all you have at the end of your session is that you have a pile of books just stacked one over the other and you have very little clue of what is the contents of these books. You really don't wanna waste so much money for having nothing acquired in return.
  • Don't waste time at any point. Just to make sure, wasting time doesn't mean getting adequate sleep, or taking some time out for entertainment or clearing your head for refreshment. Seriously, you cannot consider having lunch as wasting time from your studies.
  • Clarify your doubts in time. If you have any doubt, get it clarified as soon as possible. Only if a doubt is not clarified for long then, you got all the things stagnant and you can't get moving to the next set of problems or others. Then day after another, doubts keep piling up and you have a problem.
  • Make a list  of everything that you have studied. And the ones that you still have to make a score.
  • Maintain a specific revision notes: A revision notes will be able to help you revise better and help you remember some of the tough things that you encountered while you studied it for the first time. In this way, You don't have to revise the entire book or the study material for an exam. After having studied the entire syllabus once or twice, you will have a quality notes meant for revision if you follow this procedure and then, whenever you prepare for a mock test or a real test then you will be able to use more time in a more organised way and in a more systematic manner. Hence, maintain a short note on whatever topics you study and make your studies a better experience.
